Beijing Women's International Center recently hosted the finals of the 2018 She Loves Tech global startup competition in the capital, with support from Lean In China, a social platform for female professionals.

The activity was held under the guidance of (BWF).

As the world's largest female entrepreneurship competition in science and technology field, the initiative shortlisted 13 sci-tech teams from 12 countries including China, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Israel, France, Philippines, Canada, Indonesia, Singapore, Pakistan and South Africa.

At the event, the teams discussed issues such as women's entrepreneurship, and other cutting-edge technologies, along with domestic and foreign investors and entrepreneurs.

The 13 teams represented many fields such as medical technology, authentication, biotechnology, financial services, beauty, tourism, education, health, eco-protection and robotics.

During the finals, the judging panel, which was comprised of senior venture capitalists and well-known female entrepreneurs from home and abroad, conducted strict evaluations of every team.

Canadian bio-tech company FREDsense Technologies won the first prize, with China's medical technology company Mira coming second.

During the communication process, Virginia Tan, co-founder of Lean in China, and Lesly Goh, chief technology officer of the World Bank, spoke on issues such as the development of AI and emerging technologies.

Meanwhile, they shared their achievements in innovation and their potential to use technologies to serve future society.

She Loves Tech has showcased the latest trends on the fields of technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation opportunities, focusing on opportunities brought by women.

In future, BWF will also continue to expand the event's influence, whilst attracting more outstanding woman from the fields of science and technology around the world.
